Na mijn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.versbeton.nl\/2025\/02\/een-plein-om-te-spelen-te-hangen-en-om-vooroordelen-overboord-te-gooien\/?share_code=1qu1OwqCMA4R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">essay over Dorpsplein Marconi<\/a> volgde een column over de Westersingel &#8211; de 19-eeuwse waterloop in het verlengde van de Rode Loper vanaf het Centraal Station (voor de niet-Rotterdammers: op het Kruisplein niet linksaf slaan naar het Schouwburgplein voor het Filmfestival maar gewoon even rechtdoor lopen).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aanleiding was het aanbrengen van houten balkjes op de bankjes langs de Westersingel met als doel het onmogelijk maken om erop te liggen. De beoogde doelgroep: dakloze mensen en andere stedelijke verschoppelingen die zich ophouden in het gebied.
